Case Study: Microtech brand development and trademark registration

Ashley Wallman at LAMC is registered as a marketing consultant with the National Business Link. As a consequence of this relationship LAMC were put forward to Microtech by a National Business Link advisor as providers of marketing consultancy services for both strategic and tactical activity.

The marketing plan was developed, taking into account the findings from the audit. The marketing plan was developed to cover a 3 year timescale. Existing products and services were targeted at new markets and new products and services were developed to enter new markets. To support the latter, new brand identities and strategies had to be developed. The new logo identities for Microtech Advance, Microtech Service Suite and Microtech G-Mach 2 were developed firstly on a series of scamp boards, then progressing to final artwork for trade mark application registration. On approval of the trade marks from the UK Patent Office the communications strategy was then implemented, including designs for corporate brochures and direct mailers for each brand. All activity was monintored on a regular basis with any findings being reviewed and acted upon.
