Case Study: Premier Tax Free Edinburgh Shopping Guide

LAMC were asked to produce design, artwork and printing for a shopping guide aimed at overseas visitors, outlining Premier Tax Free's VAT refund opportunities in the Edinburgh shopping district, plus full and half page advertisements for stores in Edinburgh offering the Premier Tax Free service.

Upon approval of a colour visual, carefully designed to fit in with Premier Tax Free's corporate identity, digital artwork was produced for a 40 page, perfect bound brochure. In addition to artwork for each page, a detailed map of the Edinburgh new and old town was created, as well as a stylised illustration of Scotland, highlighting the main towns and cities and diagramatic maps of UK airports, pinpointing the customs and cash desks. Translation and typesetting of selected blocks of text into Arabic and Japanese was also handled by LAMC.

A large number of advertisements for the stores were produced by the stores' agencies, working closely to guidelines and specifications issued by LAMC via Premier Tax Free. We were also asked to create a selection of ads for some of the stores, thus saving them the time and hassle of creating an eyecatching presence in the shopping guide.

Throughout the artwork process, downloadable PDFs of each page were added to Premier Tax Free's private area on the LAMC website (a service we offer to all customers), enabling swift approval and easy to monitor progress by both parties. Updated pages were uploaded to the private area at the end of each day, accompanied by any notes and queires related to each page.

Working to a tight deadline, the full set of shopping guide brochures were successfully produced and placed in the stores and airports, and have prompted an extremely positive response from Premier Tax Free's customers.
